About the Pastor
Pastors James & Gwenith Holcomb were called by God to enter into pastorship in January 1990. They are the co-founders of the Eagle’s Nest Life Center Church, now known as the Spirit of Elijah Kingdom Church.
Today they pastor a multigenerational, vibrant congregation with a varied membership composed of professionals, including educators, accountants, lawyers, business owners, entrepreneurs, physicians, counselors and current and retired military servicemen and women.
Pastors James and Gwenith Holcomb have extensive biblical training and have studied at Evangel Cathedral’s Central Bible School in Upper Marlboro, MD and Trinity College and Seminary in Newberry, IN.
They have spoken across the U.S. at various events, including conferences, marriage retreats and church conferences. They have also traveled to Europe to participate in leaders’ conferences hosted by the late Bishop Earl Paulk.
Pastor James Holcomb has given the invocation for the Maryland General Assembly; has been a guest speaker for Andrews Air Force Base Black History Program; and has been a guest speaker for various middle and high school events in the Washington, DC Metro Area. Pastor Gwenith Holcomb has traveled to Africa to speak to women in several churches in East Africa.
Pastors James and Gwenith Holcomb are both members of the Association of Independent Ministries (A.I.M.) that falls under the auspices
of Dr. I.V. Hilliard and also form part of the Leadership Team for the Mid-Atlantic Leadership Conference. Under their leadership various ministries have been created to meet the needs of church body and its surrounding community in Prince George’s Country and Washington, DC. They include men, women, and youth ministries; outreach and evangelism; recovery and inner healing ministries; parenting classes; and biblical training.
