Pastors James & Gwenith Holcomb were called by God to enter into pastorship in January 1990. They co-founded the Eagle’s Nest Life Center Church, now known as the Spirit of Elijah Kingdom Church.

They served together faithfully until Pastor James Holcomb passed away on August 12th,2023. His strength, loving heart, leadership, faith, vision, and mentorship are sorely missed by us all. He is absent from the body, so we know that he is present with the Lord in heaven.

Pastor Gwenith Holcomb pastors a multigenerational, vibrant congregation with a varied membership which has included educators, accountants, lawyers, business owners, entrepreneurs, physicians, counselors and current and retired military servicemen and women.

She has extensive biblical training and has studied at Evangel Cathedral’s Central Bible School in Upper Marlboro, MD and Trinity College and Seminary in Newberry, IN.

She has spoken across the U.S. at various events, including conferences, marriage retreats and church conferences. She has also traveled to Europe to participate in leaders’ conferences hosted by the late Bishop Earl Paulk. Under the leadership of Pastors James and Gwenith Holcomb the church became a member of Converge MidAtlantic, a movement of churches working to help people meet, know and follow Jesus. They also became members of the Association of Independent Ministries (A.I.M.) that falls under the auspices of Dr. I.V. Hilliard and forms part of the Leadership Team for the Mid-Atlantic Leadership Conference. Under their leadership, various ministries have been created to meet the needs of the church body and its surrounding community in Prince George’s County, Charles County, and Washington, DC. They include men, women, and youth ministries; outreach and evangelism; recovery and inner healing ministries; parenting classes; and biblical training.
